Saturday, Dec. 14 8:30 a.m. – Let It Snow at the Rotary Club Breakfast with Santa We know all snowflakes look different, but why? Why do some types of snow look so different from other types? Learn the secrets of snow and make a craft to take home at the interpreter’s table during the Rotary Club’s annual Breakfast with Santa. Meet at The Restaurant. Free
Sunday, Dec. 15 1 p.m. – Windows to Winter As it gets colder we miss playing outside in the sun, but we can still have plenty of fun indoors. Join an interpreter at the Discovery Center to make a beautifully decorated window wall hanging to celebrate the season. All materials provided, materials will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. Call the Discovery Center to register by 4:30 p.m. on December 7. Cost: $30

We are opening our doors for musicians to play along with other local musicians, learn new stuff, and network with other musicians and place to have fun. Starting October 5th and every Saturday of each month. We have limited chairs but musicians and the public are welcome to bring their own.

Have a Holly Jolly Time with us as Pike’s Garage and The Automotive Connection II in bringing Christmas to our Community. Santa will be stopping by and checking his list. We will also have Games, Music, Christmas Movies, A Live Nativity Scene, and A Food Drive for our Local Food Pantry. Everything is free!!! We will have Surprises for Children along with a chance to win Two Free Dollywood Tickets for those who donate a non-perishable Food Item to our Food Drive

Volunteers are needed! Join the Smyth County Chamber of Commerce in bringing some holiday cheer to the residents of Francis Marion Manor. We will sing easy, traditional Christmas carols as a group. No singing experience, or registration needed! Just come to the Chamber office at 214 W Main St in Marion at 12:30 pm. We will run through a few carols together before traveling to Francis Marion and singing for the residents at 1:30 pm. We are also singing for Valley Health Care in Chilhowie on Wed, Dec 18 at 2:30 pm. (We will meet there at 2:00 pm). You can come to one or both events. We hope that you will join us!

Join us for a family Christmas Storytime with Rick McVey of the Barter Theater. He will be reading a selection of well-known holiday stories for kids of all ages and his presentation will be followed by a visit from Santa.
