The weather was perfect for today’s ribbon cutting at ASM Ag Services in Marion, Virginia.
Friday, May 13th was the ribbon cutting celebrating Marion’s newest thrift store. Make sure to check them out next time you happen to be in Marion! Congratulations, Clothed in Grace!
We had the privilege of joining the celebration with the ribbon cutting for Blue Ridge Discovery Center. The work that has been put into the building and property is nothing short of amazing.
Despite the weather, Marion Outdoors was able to have a successful Grand Opening Party. Located at 208 E. Main Street, Marion Outdoors is Marion, Virginia’s Outdoor Gear & Appalachian Trail Resupply shop.
(Marion, VA) One of Marion’s downtown businesses has moved. Earlier this year, Helping Hands Thrift Store received notification that their building had sold, and manager Amanda Staley went on a mission to keep the business in the heart of downtown. Now, the shop is set up in their new home, just across the street, and is open and ready for business.

We had a great turn out to Welcome Poe’s Pulled Pork our newest business to Smyth County. Showing their support ranged from the staff and friends of the Poe’s to members of our local government. From The Town of Chilhowie, Virginia, we had the Mayor Gary Heninger, Town Manager John Clark, and Police Chief Andrew Moss. Representing Smyth County, Virginia was County Administrator Shawn Utt, Kendra Hayden from Economic Development and Building Inspector Cleg Williams. Along with, Thatcher Stanley, Representing Congressman Morgan Griffith.
But the most important part of this post is the big question… Is the food any good?
Well here at the Chamber, we love to eat. So, after the ribbon cutting, we went inside and had lunch. I must say the food is amazing and prices are very reasonable! As for us at the Chamber, we definitely give Poe’s Pulled Pork 2 thumbs up! We cant wait to try the rest of the menu! (menu is pictured below)

A Huge Welcome to His Grace, the newest business to open in the town of Saltville. Located at 141 Palmer Ave, Tonya and Grady Hall sell christian gifts, apparel, jewelry, books and bibles for children to adults. They also have church supplies and crafts and do custom ordering as well. Business Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
