Join Brian Tibbs, the director of the Lincoln Theatre and the Smyth County Chamber for a FREE workshop on Content Marketing! This workshop will encompass all aspects of social media marketing and video. It will highlight services & techniques that small business owners could use to generate content with little to no effort or additional cost.

About Vincent Magnini:
Recently ranked one of the top 12 most prolific hospitality researchers worldwide, Dr. Magnini has published six books and more than 150 articles and reports. His projects typically include destination marketing plans, economic impact analyses, feasibility studies and visitor satisfaction tracking. Dr. Magnini has also been featured on National Public Radio’s (NPR) All Things Considered and With Good Reason, as well as being cited in the New York Times. Before his career in academia, Dr. Magnini worked on management teams at Marriott, Hyatt and Hilton Garden branded hotels in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern regions of the U.S.
If you have some stuff that you would like to sell, please join us by reserving a parking space to set up in for $20. All setup proceeds will support Imagination Library of Smyth County. Each seller keeps their own profit. Spaces are limited so we highly recommend reserving ahead of time. Otherwise, it will be set up on a first come, first serve basis. Sellers need to bring their own tables, chairs, and any other setup items. The yard sale is free to shoppers and is the same day as the annual Chili Cook-Off in downtown Marion. The sale will take place rain or shine so come prepared

The ever-changing world of business on the internet can be overwhelming, especially to small business owners. Rance Edwards, a technical web developer with over twenty years of eCommerce experience and a strong marketing background will lead a series of workshops to help your business make the most of its online potential. Come to one or all of these free workshops! All at 10 am and at the Henderson School of Appalachian Arts.

A 5K run/walk in honor and in memory of our military. There will be a brief ceremony at 8:30 am to kick off this family event at 9:00 am. Blue and red color will be added to the white shirts during the run/walk. Shirts are included for registrations before 7/29/18. Price also increases by $5 for registrations after 7/29/18. Headphones are permitted on the course. Strollers are permitted but the bridge on the course has stairs. Volunteers can assist with strollers at the stairs. You can register online, by a printable form, or by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 276-783-3161. You can also register the day of the event.
The cost is $25 a person through 7/29/18, which includes a shirt. After 7/29/18, the price is $30 and a t-shirt is not guaranteed. Children under 15 can participate for free, but a t-shirt is not included but can be purchased for $10 each. If you are registering 5 or more people through 7/29/18, the entry fee is only $20. You can also register for both this 5K and our upcoming Assault on Molly’s Knob 5K on 10/13/18 for only $40!
Join us for our Spring 2018 Networking Breakfast event on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. The event will be held at the Holston Hills Community Golf Course, in Marion, Virginia. Registration will begin at 7:45am with breakfast at 8:00am.
There will be opportunities for one-on-one networking, business introductions, and a special presentation for Colon Cancer Awareness Month by Dr. Aleksandr Sokolovsky, of Smyth County Surgical Associates. Best of all, the breakfast event is FREE and open to Chamber members and non-members from the community! Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Volunteers are needed! Join the Smyth County Chamber of Commerce in bringing some holiday cheer to the residents of Valley Health Care Center and Francis Marion Manor. We will sing easy, traditional Christmas carols as a group. No registration needed; just come!
At 10:30 am, we will meet at Valley Health Care and run through a few carols together before singing for the residents at Valley Health Care at 11:00 am. The, we will head over to Francis Marion! We will meet at 1:15 pm to run through the carols and sing for the residents at 1:30 pm.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Smyth County, Inc., I would like to invite you to attend the 2017 Annual Dinner Meeting. The event will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 6:00pm at Riverfront Restaurant in Chilhowie. The cost of the dinner will be $25 per person.
The meal will be southern fried chicken, Applewood smoked ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn pudding, macaroni and cheese, baked pears, and a roll. Drink and dessert are included.
This event not only serves as the annual meeting of the Chamber’s general membership, but it is also a time for us to make special recognitions. At this year’s Annual Dinner, we will announce the Overall Winner of the Area Beautification Award, present the Tom Burkett Scholarships, induct new members into the Smyth County Hall of Fame, and recognize the 2017 Chamber leadership. In addition to these recognitions, we will have a special keynote speaker, Chrystle Gates, the 2018 Virginia Region 7 Teacher of the Year. She will share with us the importance and value of an integrated music and arts education and how that benefits the community.

Come see what the Museum of the Middle Appalachians is like at night in this fundraiser event for kids ages 6 through 12! There will be a flashlight museum tour, a scavenger hunt, games, crafts, storytelling, and more! Top it all off by watching a movie with pizza and popcorn! All proceeds benefit the Museum of the Middle Appalachians.
