Sarah Gillespie, Executive Director
Sarah became the Executive Director of the Smyth County Chamber of Commerce in 2013 and describes becoming the Executive Director as her “dream job.” “I am very passionate about the Chamber and building community. I believe fully in our capacity to market, promote and enhance the business climate in the region. Working closely with the Board of Directors, there is tremendous potential for the Chamber, the Board and the staff, to carry out our mission to enhance our programs and services and take a fresh look at existing and new events, to make sure we meet, or exceed, the expectations of our members,” said Gillespie. Sarah was born and raised in Smyth County and is happy to have returned to her roots after thirteen years away. Sarah lives on a farm in Rich Valley, VA with her husband Cameron, daughter Bella and son Conner.
Lori Ringley, Administrative Assistant
Lori has lived in Smyth County for over twenty years and has developed a strong love for our area. Growing up in a military family, Lori had moved several times in her life. When her family relocated to this area during her high school years, Lori fell in love with the mountains here, and also with her husband Tim, from Sugar Grove. She felt welcomed by the community and for the first time in her life, she was able to put down roots. She enjoys her work, specifically creating awareness of Smyth County’s amazing resources and promoting our small businesses. She has worked at the Chamber since August of 2016. She also plays the harp, sings, reads, and sews. She and her family live in Konnarock and enjoy hiking, biking, going to local festivals, and much more.
